Hanuman and the juicy fruit
One day, Maruti woke up feeling very hungry. Outside, he saw a big, round, yellow, juicy mango on the tree. Maruti leapt towards the tree but couldn’t find any mangoes on it. He noticed something bright and yellow in the sky and flew towards it.
The heat and the brightness of the sun didn’t stop Maruti. Meanwhile he saw a big Rakshas called Rahu coming towards the sun. Afraid that the demon would gobble up his fruit, Maruti hit him hard.
‘‘save your kingdom Indra, the little monkey is out to Eat up the sun and destroy you’’, Rahu complained. Indra, the king of the Gods, was furious. He shot his most powerful arrow, the Vajra at Maruti. It hit him hard on his chin and hurt him badly.
Vayu, The God of the wind was Maruti’s godfather. He was very angry with Indra, He sucked all the air from the universe. People and Animals started dying. Indra apologized and the others gods requested Vayu to calm down.
